Municipal Solid Waste in USA

The total amount of Municipal Solid Waste, or trash, thrown away in the USA has not stopped increasing. But fortunately, efforts towards solutions also continue to grow and in 2014 about 66.4 million tons of MSW were recycled, 23 million tons were composted, and 33.1 million tons were combusted and transformed into energy. On the last Earth Day the Earth Day Network promoted their campaign to [End Plastic Pollution] (https://www.earthday.org) urging individuals, organizations, and educators to take action and learn about the many ways in which to help.
