Who owns Twitter now?

On April 25, 2022, Twitter and Elon Musk entered an agreement to have the social network acquired by an entity wholly owned by Elon Musk, for $54.20 per share. Upon completing this transaction, approximately valued at $44 billion, Twitter will become a privately held company with Musk serving as CEO temporarily.

But as Twitter is still a public company, who are the owners now? According to CNN Money, Mutual fund holders own 40.95%, other institutional investors hold 35.92%, and individual stakeholders make up 12.48% of Twitter’s shares.
