Climate change is top concern for Millennials & Gen Z

The Deloitte Millennial survey questioned over 13,000 Millennials across 42 countries and territories, and around 3,000 Gen Zs from 10 countries in 2019. The results show that Millennials and Gen Zs have a low level of optimism due to a lack of faith in traditional institutions (including social media). Another potential reason for this melancholy among Millennials and Gen Z is climate change, with many Millennials demanding that institutions focus more on the environment. Our butterfly chart highlights the percentage of Millennials and Gen Zs who selected “Climate change/protecting the environment/natural disaster” as their top priority from a list of 21 challenges facing societies around the world.
