What is a QR Code?
QR Codes (Quick Response Codes) are two-dimensional barcodes that can be scanned with smartphone cameras to quickly access information. Originally developed for tracking automotive parts, they have become widely used for linking physical materials to digital content.
Use Cases

- Link slides to additional resources, references, or websites
- Connect printed handouts to digital versions or supplementary materials
- Provide quick access to contact information or digital business cards
Marketing and Communication
- Connect print advertisements to landing pages or promotional campaigns
- Link product packaging to instruction manuals, warranty information, or registration pages
- Provide event attendees with quick access to schedules, maps, or feedback forms
Education and Training
- Link textbooks or learning materials to videos, interactive exercises, or extended content
- Provide students with direct access to online quizzes or discussion boards
- Create interactive museum or gallery exhibitions with additional information accessible via QR codes
How to Use This Plugin
-
Enter URL or Text: Input the web address or text you want to encode in the QR code. For optimal scanning, keep URLs short when possible.
-
Customization: Adjust the color to match your branding or document design. For best scanning results, maintain high contrast between the foreground and background colors.
Best Practices
- Testing: Always test your QR code with multiple devices and scanning apps before publishing
- Size: Ensure your QR code is large enough to be easily scanned - the minimum recommended size is 2 x 2 cm (0.8 x 0.8 inches) for printed materials and for presentations, make sure to reserve around half of the slide for the QR code
- Quiet Zone: This plugin automatically adds a “quiet zone” (margin) around the QR code for optimal scanning
- Contrast: Maintain high contrast between the QR code and its background for reliable scanning
