Electricity Generation in Europe by Source

The latest debate in the EU about the taxonomy regulation might result in nuclear power and gas being classified as sustainable sources. While some voices say that these technologies are crucial for a shift into a fully renewable energy sourced future, others think that this is a wrong signal for the energy market and could lead to countries using these sources for longer than needed for achieving climate goals.

It displays how although the use of traditional sources like coal is declining and the amount of renewable sources are rising, disputed sources such as nuclear power or natural gas are staying strong or even rising respectively.
